Claims like 'water resistant' without a hydrostatic head number should always be questioned. For true rain gear, look for 10,000mm+ hydrostatic head with taped seams. This distinction matters because buying a 'waterproof Pertex jacket' without checking the line is how returns happen.
Deadline math: why certainty has a premium

A fabric that arrives on time, performs as specified, and is backed by a supplier who stands behind it is almost always cheaper in the long run.
Next time you're sourcing for a deadline-sensitive product, don't ask whether you can afford the premium fabric. Ask what one failed shipment would cost you.
